Speaker Biographies and Program Descriptions

Pascale Marceau is an explorer, mountaineer and consultant in high-risk processes who is based out of the Canadian Rockies and Grand Marais MN. She has over 20 years of mountain adventuring and has recently been focusing on remote, cold weather, exploratory firsts.

In Winter 2022, Pascale lived in one of the northernmost communities in Greenland. From polar night to 24hrs of daylight, she discovered an incredible world of snow and ice, a place where life is very different.
With her partner, they built a komatik, acquired a dog team and trained them to be expedition ready. With local hunters, the team launched on a journey further north in view of crossing the Arctic Ocean into Canada’s High Arctic.
What unfolded was a story of resilience through roadblocks, of optimism despite disappointment, of creative problem solving in the face of a warming planet.
